The Working Girl’s Style Guide to an Edgy Look

Edge

Pulling off an edgy look can be a little tricky, especially because no one wants to look like they’re playing dress up. Finding key pieces and pairing them with the right make-up can make your edgy outfit a real statement. But if you do too much you might look like you’re ready to head out to a costume party. In the example above I have started with a couple of statement pieces, the ombre furry vest and the jeweled clutch. I’ve kept my accessories neutral and decided to go with gold toned jewelry that has edge but at the same time is understated. My canvas was of course the black leather pants and the black embroidered shirt along with the black booties. I’ve gone with an edgy cat eye that has a bit of sparkle but won’t over power the whole outfit. The matte lip color really brings the whole look together by adding a sensuality but keeping it neutral.
